Lose heart 和Lose one\"s heart 的区别

I had lunch at two o'clock today和I had my hunch at two o'clock today都表示同样的意思，尽管第二句出现了物主代词，但有人一粗心会把lose heart写成lose one's heart来表示“丧失信心”或“情绪低落”。lose one's heart是“爱上了”，需要用介词to说明爱的对象，如：

①Jim lost his heart to the Persian cat at first sight．

Jim一看见那只波斯猫就喜欢得不得了。

②After graduation he was sent to work in Tibet．Not long afterwards he lost his heart to the people there．

毕业之后他被派往西藏工作。不久他就爱上了那里的人。

而lose heart总用在出现挫折、失败的时候，例如：

Don’t lose heart；make another try．

不要灰心，再试一回。

顺便说一下，使用lose要注意，有些说法没有物主代词。在表示“掉磅”时，人们倾向加上物主代词，这是不符合习惯的。应该把下面句子中的my去掉：

I have been losing my weight in the past two weeks．同样，“增加体重"put on weight或gain weight也没有物主代词。而“丢面子”是lost face，“失去优势”是lose ground，但“惊慌失措”却是lose one's head，“发火”是lose one's temper，“迷路”是lose one's way。什么时候该有，什么时候不该有物主代词，是有规律可循的，平时在学习时应多加注意。
