Thestoryisse原海所械境家有tinLondonandParisatthetimeofthegre轻才组鲜死下顺据刻atFrench*补初月**.Itshowsthecausesofrevolutionanditseffectsonpeople'sday-to-daylives.Beforetherevolution,theKingandthearistocracytreatedtheirpeoplecruellyinFrance.Thecommonpeoplewereextremelypoorandmiserable.Thecrop写练迫垂sinthefieldswerepoorasifev技急末波置官水怎刻enthelandsharedthemiseryofthepeople.Andthereweresoheavytaxesthatallthevillagershadnothingtohandoveratlast.Ontheotherhand,thearistocracymad振亚功有飞立单元措etheirwillasthelawbyusingmoneyandgold.Therewere没校奏五械乡菜精镇罪nojustice,noequalityandnofairness.JustaswhathappenedtoDrManette,hewrotetotheMinistertoshowthecrimewhatMarquisEvremondehaddone,resultinginhimselfbeingarrestedandsenttotheprisonBastillewithoutanyreason.

Thenthissituationofdarknesswasneededtobe***.AspeoplesuchastheDefargespreparedandarranged,atlengththeRevolutioncametobreakout.WhentheBastillewascapturedandtheKingwastriedandputtodeathaswellasmanyotheraristocrats,thingsdidn'tgoonaswhattheyhadbeenexpected.Thesistuationstayedthesame,orevenworse.TheprisonersfromtheBastilleweresetfreewhilemoreprisonswerefilledwithpeoplewhohaddonenowrongagain.Peoplewhooncelivedonthebottomofclasstookthechargenowandtheirhearthadbeenfullofevil.Theonlythingtheywantedtodowastorevenge.Andtheseso-called"patriots"wouldliketoseemoreandmoreinnocentprisonersgoingtotheguillotineandthat'stheirjoy.Asthenovelwrote,"Ineverythingtheydidweremerciless,fortheyhadbeenhardenedinthefiresofsufferingandthetouchofpitycouldmakenomarkonthem".

Equalityandfairnessiswhatpeopleseek,whichledtotheFrench***.Asaconsequence,neitherequalitynorfairnesswasgotaftertherevolution.Andthat'sthetragedyofthehistory.IwasheavyheartedwhenreadingwhatSydneyCartonsaidbeforedeathandIburstintotearsfinally.

MissProssVS.MadameDefarge

FromthefirstminuteIreadATaleOfTwoCitiesforward,Ihavebeeninlovewiththisbook.Thechapterwhichimpressedmemostisneither"TheGreatEscape"nor"Revolution",it's"TheKnittingIsFinished",whichI'dliketocallMissProssPKMadameDefarge.

AsMrLorryhaddrivenacarriageinwhichlayDarnayandhisfamiliestoescapefromParis,MissProssandJerryCruncher,theoneswhowereleftbecausethecarriagecouldn'tbeoverloaded,hadtoorderanothercarriageforthemselves.WhenMissProsswaspreparingthingsaloneinthehouse,afigureappearedunexpectedly,makinghercryout.ItwasMadameDefarge,whocamehereaimingforLucieandthechild.MadameDefargeknewwellthatthiswomanwasatrustedfriendofthefamilyandMissProssknewthattheotherwomanwasthefamily'senemy.Thenthecombatbetweentwowomanbegan.

MissProsswasoneofthosewomanwhothoughtnothingoftheirownneedsandwho,throughpureloveandadmiration,arereadytomakethemselvesslavestoyouthwhentheyhavelostit,tobeautywhichtheyhaveneverhad,andtobrighthopesthathavenevershoneupontheirowndark***.AsMrLorrysaid,"thereisnothingbetterintheworldthanthehonestserviceoftheheart".SinceMissProsshadbecomelikeamothertoLucieandwouldhavegivenherlifeforher,shewoulddoeverythingshecouldtokeepMadameDefargeinthehousesothatthecarriagecarryingLuciecouldrunfarther.

MadameDefargewasawomanwithaverykeeneye,astrongfaceandagreatcalmnessofmanner.WhentheFrenchRevolutionbrokeout,itwasherwholedthewomanandcutofftheheadofthegovernoroftheprison.Shehadastrong,fealessandakindofbeautythatcalledattentiontoherqualities.Shehadgrownupwithadeepsenseofwrongandapowerfulhatredofthearisyocracy;anypitythatsheoncemayhavehadwasnow***.Toher,Darnay'sfamilymustbedestroyed,thewifeandchildmustfollowthefather.

Bothweredeterminedwomanintheirdifferentways.HatredhadmadetheheartoftheFrenchwomanhard;lovenowfiledtheEnglishwoman'swith***.It'sveryintereingtoseethateachwomanspokeinherownlanguageandneitherunderstoodawordofwhattheothersaidwhileeachknewwelltheother'sintention.

Asaresultofthecombat,MadameDefargediedlyingongroundandMissProsscouldhearnothingfortherestofherlife.That'sanothertragedyinmyheart.
